Fit Toddler
Any suggestions on how to get a child to calm down when he throws a screaming fit?
My son is 19 months old. Recently began he that these fits where he would just stand in one place and start screaming in a high pitched, crackling voice. My family and I have tried everything we can think on, from quiet to ask what it is he needs to keep him (which really does not work), to let him cry for a while in his stall and then try to talk with him in a calm, sympathetic voice. Nothing seems to work. Please help.
He goes through "the terrible Twos". He does this to get his attention so he will get his way. He does not want you to 'speak with him "He wants to get his way. Ignore tant space not argue with him, not try to talk to him. Just let him scream. Finally, he acknowledged that he did not get his way, and his cry is not to get him out nd he will leave.
